My series Until the Last Breath, which follows Ákos Márkovics, a trained caregiver of Hungarian constitutional lawyer and ALS patient Dániel Karsai, has been shortlisted at the Kolga Tbilisi Photo Awards and exhibited during the festival.

The series explores not only the challenges of caregiving, but also the close relationship between Márkovics and Karsai, and documents Karsai’s legal and personal fight for the right to make decisions about his own death. His case sparked a nationwide debate in Hungary about euthanasia. The jury included Nigel Dickinson (UK), Tina Schelhorn (Germany), Wolfgang Zurborn (Germany), Richard Bram (USA) and Vince Cianni (USA).
